Many charities have been affected by the pandemic, seeing their income fall and demand for services rise. So what steps can they take next? On June 18th, we are joined by a panel of charity CEOs discussing their approach to planning for changing times and for the road to recovery.
The webinar covers the following subjects:
- Pivoting. How have they pivoted their services during the pandemic and what lessons have they learned along the way?
- Approaches to staffing arrangements. Have they had to furlough staff and will they have to reduce their headcount in the future?
- Financial planning. What approach have they taken to planning for their finances given the current lack of certainty? Have they taken the decision to just remove a quarter of their annual income or have they taken a different approach?
- Lessons from the pandemic: are they planning to have staff work remotely in the future? Have they run any successful virtual fundraising campaigns during the pandemic?

Allison has been the CEO at World Bicycle Relief since 2017, and previously was Director at ITS Fundraising. She has also worked as Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications at the National Museum of the Royal Navy.
Kate joined Alzheimer's Society as CEO in December 2019. Before then, she worked at CLIC Sargent, the UK's largest children's cancer charity, where she oversaw a major rebrand and successfully lobbied the government to pay for all funerals of children under 18. Prior to that, she was previously CEO of the Myton Hospice Group, providing palliative care across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Jo runs Together Co, leading a thriving local loneliness charity, and creating connections that change lives.
Tufail Hussain is the director of Islamic Relief UK. He had been the charity's interim UK director for six months after former director Imran Madden took a leave of absence. Tufail was previously the deputy director and head of fundraising for the charity.
